For Tim’s entire career, he’s been the hand-raising, go-to guy on new technology brand launches. In his first advertising job at DDB, he and his team beat out another Dallas agency in a Mad Men-style agency shootout to see who could sell the most NFL branded GTE pagers nationwide. Yes, pagers. Tim’s team won and from there forward, he said goodbye to the analog world of advertising and hello to the digital age of marketing, leading clients and teams in bringing new technologies to market in almost every category.
Tim works with clients to develop communications strategies to stay ahead by leveraging the latest in digital, artificial intelligence (AI), and mobile. He’s the author of the 2018 eBook The Robot Apocalypse: How Brands Can Thrive and Survive in the Age of AI. Tim loves working with clients to understand and interpret data, trends, and insights to drive measurable, integrated brand, social media, e-mail and search marketing strategies for B2B, consumer and business-to-citizen clients. Tim’s integrated and mobile marketing experience covers a broad range of Fortune 500 companies, association, government and nonprofit clientele. He’s led the development of brand and integrated digital marketing strategies for clients including One Seventeen Media, Bound 360, IBM, Spiceworks, CreativeDrive, Cleveland Clinic, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and Takeda Oncology. Specifically, for HHS/ONC, Tim led the overall strategic direction and provided client counsel for the communications campaign promoting nationwide adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) under the HITECH Act including the creation of HealthIT.gov. He is a member of the Mobile Marketing Association and Google’s Public Sector Advisory Council.
He’s led the development of digital departments and teams while working for some of the world’s leading agencies including Ketchum, The Richards Group, and Ogilvy & Mather. He and his husband Bret live in Austin, love cycling, just about anything outdoors, and their very old cat Zoya.
